Known as a creator of provocative dances that reflect the fullness of the human story, Carolyn Dorfman creates "worlds" into which the audience can enter. CDDC's high-energy and technically demanding repertory uses movement as metaphor to take audiences on "intellectual and emotional journeys." For their SOPAC debut, CDDC presents Dorfman’s most recently acclaimed works, CAT’S CRADLE and HE WALKS ON THE WINGS OF THE WIND. He Walks … includes 24 local student dancers lighting up the stage as they exuberantly dance with the full Company to live music by pianist Mika Chiang and violinist, Michael Ludwig. These brilliant pieces, along with CDDC classics SEXTET and CRIES OF THE CHILDREN offer a rich evening of works that are a tribute to family and humanity. They are about a spirit and passion for life, survival and renewal. They are Dorfman at her best!
